Calligraphy means “the art of beautiful lettering,” but to me, it’s evolved into so much more. Eight years ago I took my first class in pointed pen calligraphy and I haven’t stopped writing since. A few weeks after that class I took three samples down to the local Crane & Co. store and that’s how Just Write Studios began. A few years later I attended my first IAMPETH calligraphy convention and fell in love again. This time, it was with my husband Rick, who was teaching that year. A few months later I moved to the DC area and now we’re happy to call Rockville, MD home. We collect antique ink-wells, treasure every calligraphy piece we've received as gifts or purchased over the years and even named our two chihuahuas after famous penmen.
Over the years, the members of IAMPETH have become our extended family. I was privileged to serve as President from 2010-2011 and chaired the annual convention in July of 2011 in Phoenix, Arizona.
